The Essence of Fire has a flaming aura that inflicts damage to close opponents and tosses fire bolts to the distance, however it doesn't do both at the same time, giving the opportunity to conveniently switch between melee and ranged attacks.
Upon destruction, the Essence of Fire splits in three smaller Essences with a meteor attack similar to the jumping assault of the Demon Spider.
